Pic's over the years

It's been quite the adventure - click here for a timeline of what we've been up to over the years. From Pic roasting peanuts in a concrete mixer in his garage to building Pic's Peanut Butter World, the home of all things Pic's Peanut Butter!

This jar here, it's the OG jar, the original label, the one Pic made himself and stuck on with some paper glue. We haven't changed it all that much really

Pic, the OG Peanut Butter Maker

Maybe you're here for a bit of Pic, the guy that started it all. The one who gave the big brands who claimed they knew what people wanted the middle finger, and proved them all wrong.

He's written a book ya know, and you can buy it! Or you can get some of the peanut butter lowdown right here.

What's in your jar?

Hi Oleic peanuts are full of healthy, monounsaturated fats (like those in olive oil or avocados), they are also high in fibre and super high in protein. They taste great – just like old-fashioned peanuts, but the real kicker is that they are Really Good for you!

Check out our Batchinator to find out exactly what’s in your jar

The Food Factory

Productivity starts around the kitchen table.

Pic credits the success of his peanut butter company to what he learned during his time at Parnell Workshops, a collective of small manufacturers who shared their skills, equipment, lunch breaks and Friday night drinks together, at a run-down warehouse in the 1980s.

Today the Food Factory is a Charitable Trust, offering an affordable food-grade workspace and collaborative environment in which to develop food products and processing methods.

Pic Picot Stamp and Picture

If you've been here before, welcome back. I hope you discover new stuff and still find what you're looking for.

If you're a first-time visitor, you'll be thinking we're pretty flash. And you'd be right, but my goodness we've come a long way in a very short time.

In 2007 I bought a jar of peanut butter because, like you, I love the stuff. I took it home, made some toast, smothered it with the crunchy stuff, and took a big bite.

It was disgusting. Full of sugar. There was a Freephone number on the jar and I rang it for a moan, to be told, "Most people prefer it with sugar, sir."

My Mum and Auntie had made a bit of peanut butter when I was little. So I bought a few kilos of peanuts, roasted them in the oven, and squished them up with a bit of salt, blowing up my cheap modern blender in the process.

But the peanut butter was beautiful.

I made a roaster out of a concrete mixer and bought a benchtop grinder and a tonne of peanuts from Australia and got to work. There's a video HERE if you're interested.

And now here we are today, making the world's finest peanut butter!
